Only 6% of Afghans have bank accounts, around 60% have a feature or smartphone, which, combined with a scarcity of physical currency in circulation, indicated the need for a digital solution. This led to the development of HesabPay.

They no longer have to wait in long queues providing dignity of access, and with their own financial accounts they are empowered to withdraw cash or make purchases at 1,000 local merchants.
